Privacy Policy
Effective April 12, 2026. This page is the canonical version for the FitNest iOS app and related services.
← Back to home1. Who we are
FitNest (“FitNest”, “we”, “us”) provides fitness tracking, coaching, social features, and optional integrations through our mobile application and related infrastructure. This Privacy Policy describes how we process personal information when you use FitNest.
2. Scope
This policy applies to information processed through the FitNest iOS app, our websites that link to this policy (including fitnesttraining.com), and cloud services used to operate the product. Third-party services you connect (for example Apple Sign in, Apple Health, or wearables) are also governed by their own terms and permission screens.
3. Information we collect
Account and profile. Information you provide when registering or updating your profile, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, display name, photo, region or gym preferences where you choose to provide them, and authentication identifiers from sign-in providers.
Optional profile and demographics. You may choose to provide additional profile fields (for example date of birth, gender, or body measurements) to personalize coaching and progress features. We treat this information in line with this policy and your in-app settings.
Activity and health-related data. Workouts, exercises, sets, notes, nutrition or hydration entries, sleep or recovery metrics you log, and similar content you create in the app.
Apple Health (HealthKit). If you enable HealthKit, we access only the categories you authorize on your device. You can change or revoke access in the Apple Health app and in FitNest settings. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or sell HealthKit data.
Wearables and integrations. When you connect third-party devices or APIs (for example WHOOP), we process the data types made available by those services according to your connection and their terms.
Trainer and coaching features. If you use personal-trainer features, we process messages, assignments, and program data shared between you and your trainer in the product.
AI and automation. Where you enable AI or automated coaching, we may process prompts, contextual workout data, and outputs generated for you, consistent with in-app consent and settings.
Social and community. Content you post, reactions, follows, challenges, and similar social interactions visible according to your privacy settings.
Location. If you grant permission, we may access device location to support features such as nearby gym or partner discovery. Our match-related flows request approximate accuracy (for example on the order of a kilometre), not continuous high-precision tracking, and we do not use location for third-party advertising.
Camera, microphone, photos, and audio. If you use recording, upload, messaging, or form-check features, we process photos, videos, audio recordings, or live camera frames as needed to provide those features.
Form and movement analysis (camera). For AI or form feedback, we analyse body pose and movement using on-device technologies (including Apple Vision body pose and, on supported hardware, AR body tracking). Outputs are used for fitness coaching and product features, not for selling data or for cross-app advertising.
Identifiers and device data. We use stable account identifiers (such as your user ID) and device-level identifiers as needed for sign-in, sync, notifications, fraud prevention, optional analytics (when enabled), and service reliability.
Product usage and diagnostics. If you opt in to analytics, we collect interaction and usage data to understand how features are used. We also process crash logs and performance diagnostics to fix bugs. We do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework to track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising, and we do not declare “advertising” style tracking for that purpose.
Saved searches. If you save a search in the app, we store the search query and related filters in your account on our servers so you can revisit them.
Purchases and subscriptions. Paid features purchased through the App Store are processed by Apple. Apple shares subscription status with us (not your full card number) so we can unlock entitlements.
Technical and usage data. Device type, OS version, app version, diagnostics, crash reports, approximate timestamps of use, and—if you opt in to analytics—aggregated or pseudonymous usage events to understand feature usage and reliability.
Support. Information you send when contacting support, including email content and attachments you choose to provide.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to provide and improve the service, authenticate users, sync data across devices and the cloud where enabled, personalize workouts and recommendations, operate social and challenge features, deliver notifications you request, detect abuse and protect security, comply with law, and communicate about the product (including service and policy updates).
Where required, we rely on performance of a contract with you, legitimate interests (such as securing the service and understanding aggregate usage), or consent (for example optional analytics or certain AI processing), as applicable under local law.
5. Sharing and processors
We share information with service providers who host infrastructure, authentication, databases, storage, email delivery, crash reporting, and—if enabled—analytics. They may process data only on our instructions and subject to appropriate contractual safeguards.
We may share information with a linked personal trainer only as part of features you use. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of FitNest, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information as “sale” is commonly understood for privacy laws.
6. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use appropriate mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses where required.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it in line with our retention practices.
8. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password, enable device security features, and review connected integrations regularly.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage many controls inside the app (integrations, notifications, account deletion). To exercise other rights, contact us using the details below. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and opt out of certain sharing. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by those laws.
10. Children
FitNest is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example in-app or by email).
